Nurture Your Calling
“Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
-Matthew 4:19
When Jesus first said, “Come after me,” he wasn’t speaking to theologians, monks or men who had it all figured out. He called fishermen—men who worked with their hands, made mistakes, and probably didn’t see themselves as religious leaders.

If you’ve ever thought, “That could never be me,” you might have more in common with the apostles than you think.

The vocation to the priesthood is a vocation of love that participates in the mission of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who came to seek the lost and bring them back to the Father.
Priests devote their lives to this mission; the salvation of souls. They imitate Christ’s search for humanity by looking for the lost sheep in our world and teaching others about the God who loves them
Prayer
O God, we earnestly ask You to bless our Diocese with many priests, brothers, sisters and deacons who will love You with their whole mind and heart and gladly spend their entire lives serving Your Church and making You known and loved. Bless our families, bless our children and choose from our homes those needed for Your work. Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us; pray for our priests, religious and deacons. Obtain for us many more. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
