1. Who is one of your favorite saints and why?

St. Martha is one of my favorite Saints. She is a great example of faithfulness and trust in the Lord.

2. What is your favorite Scripture verse and why?

Habbakuk 3:19: "God, my Lord, is my strength: he makes my feet swift as those of deer and enables me to tread upon the heights." This verse on its own is a great image of the joy and freedom that comes from life in Christ, but with the two verses before it, the passage reminds me of the need for faithfulness during difficult times.

3. What are your favorite things to do in your spare time?

Some of my favorite things to do are drawing, playing tennis, and singing.

4. What attracts you to the idea of serving the Lord and the Church in Northern Wisconsin?

The Diocese of Superior feels like home to me. I always feel more at ease when I'm in the Northwoods, and its easier to remember what matters in life.

5. What advice would you give to a young man discerning his vocation?

Strive after intimacy with Christ. Grow in friendship with him; how else will you understand what he is saying to you? One of the most important things in this area for me has been Christ-centered friendships and community. If that is something you are looking for and are unsure who to ask, ask our Vocations Team!

6. Who influenced you the most to think about the priesthood?

I have been blessed with many witnesses to the joy of the priesthood. The person who had the greatest influence was my pastor in college, Fr. Dan Oudenhoven.

7. What is something important that you learned while working as a nurse?

No matter how well you make a plan, you can never know how the day will unfold, so make sure to do your best with whatever is currently at hand.

8. Before entering seminary, what was your dream job?

I wanted to open a sandwich café!
