1. Who is one of your favorite saints and why?

One of my favorite saints is Saint Joseph because of his strong protection and example of being a good worker and father.

2. What is your favorite Scripture verse and why?

“As the Father has loved me so I have loved you, abide in my love.” - John 15:9

This is my favorite Scripture verse because it shows how strong Christ's love is for us and how we are to live by abiding in it. The simple command to abide speaks to me because I often need to be reminded that God loves me no matter what, and that I don't have to do things to earn His love. I simply need to abide in it.

3. What are your favorite things to do in your spare time?

Some of my favorite things to do in my spare time are to lift weights, read, play sports, go mountain biking, and go downhill skiing.

4. What attracts you to the idea of serving the Lord and the Church in Northern Wisconsin?

Serving in Northern Wisconsin gives me the opportunity to be near my family and to serve people I have known for much of my life. I also appreciate the generous and warm culture and how many people are willing to go out of their way to help others. I love the natural beauty and Lake Superior as well.

5. What advice would you give to a young man discerning his vocation?

Go out and try things. God can't drive a parked car. You need data to work with when you are discerning.

6. Who influenced you the most to think about the priesthood?

Father Ben Hasse, my parish priest when I was at college at Michigan Tech University, gave me a great example of how fun and fruitful life as a priest can be.

7. What helped deepen your faith and influenced you to consider the priesthood?

Spending much of my time in college at St. Albert the Great University Parish. Being involved in FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students), music ministry, Exodus 90, and having a great Catholic community to support me.

8. Before entering seminary, what was your dream job?

Being a professional weightlifter.

9. You’re stranded on a deserted island and can only watch one movie. You press play, and what comes on?

The Godfather.
